Our women’s surf retreat offers 10 hours of hands-on personalized surf lessons with professional coaches. Led by the ultra-talented Carly, our experienced surf team is dedicated to meeting the requirements of all abilities and levels. We’ll guide you every step of the way whether you’re a first time beginner surfer, intermediate or a seasoned surfer.
We go at your pace. Our surf retreat is the ideal setting for learning a new skill. Our all-star instructors will hone in on your needs and give you individual attention while encouraging you to push yourself to the next level in a safe and comfortable environment.
We will completely tailor your surf retreat to your level of experience. Beginners will be taught in the sandy shallows close to shore, while the intermediate and experienced surfers will be paired with a guide who will take you to awesome breaks perfect for your level.
We teach surfing in four steps: explanation, demonstration, participation and feedback. Our Bali women’s surf retreat lessons begin with a warm-up on the beach followed by a theory discussion on techniques and conditions. Then, we head into the water to put theory into practice. Every session will end with a photo analysis and feedback session, critical and effective components of our teaching process that play out in the comfort of our luxury villa.
We provide all equipment. We’ll give you everything you need to enjoy the Bali waves including boards, rash vests, and (of course) lots of sunscreen!
Most importantly, we stay safe, and we have a great time. We’ve learned from experience that teaching essential core skills along with solid safety instruction is the best way to build a solid foundation. With that foundation, you’ll be able to progress through self-coaching, enjoying the waves long after you return home or continue your travels.
I absolutely loved everything about my week at Ocean Soul Retreat.
The accommodation was beautiful with plenty of spaces to either socialise or relax. I felt completely at home the minute I entered the retreat.
I have never tried surfing before and actually didn’t think I would be very good at it but I was able to stand up on day 1! Such an incredible sense of accomplishment thanks to the Double D surf instructors. The boys were so patient, funny and genuinely proud of us when all 8 girls were standing on day 1. We were catching “green” waves by the end of the week. Being a mother of three – I was feeling extremely proud of myself.
I was a complete novice when it came to Yoga as well. But I loved it! Amanda was absolutely amazing. I felt so much stronger and calmer by the end of the week. Positions that I wouldn’t even attempt on day 1 I was doing easily on day 5,6 and 7. Even just chatting to Amanda pre and post yoga made me feel so relaxed and positive.
The Food… It was all so delicious!!! I spent the week eating really different food to what I would usually eat and I loved it. There was an abundance of food as well. There was no moment in the week that I had to go looking for food. It just always seemed to be there at the right time.
For the cultural day I chose to do the Ubud cycling tour. I have always wanted to see this side of Bali and it was beautiful.
As for the other ladies on the trip – I feel so lucky to have met such inspirational, accepting beautiful people. We all got along so well. They were all so supportive of each other accomplishments over the week. In all the surfing photo’s you can see the other girls in the background cheering on each surfer.
Georgie and her team were fantastic. Nothing was ever a problem. Their whole priority was to make sure that we all had the best possible holiday. And I did!
All in all I highly recommend Ocean Soul Retreat. I really feel like it has changed my whole attitude about my health and lifestyle.
I know I will definitely be back. I loved it!

Start your day with our early morning yoga class followed by a nutritious breakfast. Energized and nourished, you’ll be able to bring your best game to a surf session on Seminyak Beach. After building up your surf skills — and your appetite — return to the villa for a healthy, flavorful lunch. Then enjoy a little R&R by our pool until dinner time.
Rise with the sun and start your day hitting the beach for a power walk or run. Prepare for the day with a deeply nutritious breakfast before starting your morning training session. Pilate classes are alternated throughout the week with ropes courses and either Surf/SUP lesson or Pilates. Then, replenish your energy during lunch at the villa. Your afternoons are a moment of dream-time to wind down with some treatments and then you finish the day with an early evening yoga class before dinner.
Greet each morning with sun salutations in a bright and early yoga class. After your asanas, join everyone for a nourishing breakfast to prepare for the day. Then, experience Bali through an activity of your choosing followed by a delicious lunch. Afternoons and evenings are filled with pool-time or a wind-down yoga class.
Prepare for the day with a deeply nutritious breakfast before starting your day of holistic healing and health. A morning beach walk followed by a session of holistic healing. You can select from alternative activities for one morning in the program – from spa therapies to water sports. Then replenish your energy during lunch at the villa. Afternoons are dedicated to Dream time – more healings and pool time. Wind down in the evenings and indulge in a healthy dinner some herbal tea and delicious desert.
